I REALLY ENJOYED THE HITCHHIKER ON CHRISTMAS EVE. THIS BOOK IS MY FAVORITE OF JUDY MOORE'S BOOKS SO FAR. WE MEET RENEE WHO IS SUCH A MESS SINCE HER FIANCE BROKE UP WITH HER. SHE CAN'T SLEEP. SHE CAN'T EAT. RENEE IS SO DEPRESSED, SHE DECIDES TO COMMIT SUICIDE BY JUMPING OFF THE BRIDGE. THEN SHE DOES EVEN SOMETHING EVEN MORE DANGEROUS, SHE PICKS UP A HITCHHIKER. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT GIVES ME HOPE FOR THE HUMAN RACE. RENEE WAS MEANT TO MEET THE HITCHHIKER THAT NIGHT. HE WILL CHANGE HER LIFE FOREVER.
JUDY HAS A WAY OF DRAWING YOU INTO HER STORIES FROM THE VERY FIRST PAGE UNTIL THE END. THE HITCHHIKER ON CHRISTMAS EVE WAS NO EXCEPTION SHE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN PORTRAYING HOW DEPRESSING THE HOLIDAYS ARE FOR SOME PEOPLE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN HURT AS RENEE HAS. YOU COULD FEEL HER PAIN JUST AS IF IT WAS YOUR OWN. I FELT SO SORRY FOR HER ALTHOUGH TAKING HER LIFE WASN'T THE ANSWER. THE HITCHHIKER WAS AN INTERESTING MAN. HE MADE SOME MISTAKES IN LIFE AND WAS TRYING TO CHANGE. HE WENT OUT OF THE WAY TO HELP THIS TOTAL STRANGER OUT. HE SAVED HER LIFE AND THEN THEY SLOWLY FELL IN LOVE AS THEY GOT TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER.
THIS BOOK HAS A LITTLE EVERYTHING THERE IS SUSPENSE, ROMANCE AND EVEN ACTION. IT WAS A VERY EMOTIONAL READ THAT ENJOYED SO MUCH I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU PICKUP THIS BOOK.

Another great read. I enjoyed the lighthearted book especially during such a crazy time of the year.
The characters are so real and bring you right into the book. I highly recommend this book to all.
A quick, clean read about second chances at love and life. A nice feel-good story.
Renee, the main character, is in a very bad place on this particular Christmas Eve -- her fiancee took up with another woman and she's estranged from her parents. What's a girl to do? Usually, picking up a hitchhiker is not the solution, but it works for Renee. I loved following her road back to sanity and normalcy.
Certainly not the typical Christmas story...but a very entertaining one that follows a convoluted forlorn woman on a journey working her way up from a bottomless pit of complete despair & devastation to find peace & happiness. She regained faith in herself but could she have done it without taking that chance picking up a hitchhiker? Nothing to lose, right?
Renee was ready to throw her life away because of her failed marriage. On her way there she decides to do the dangerous thing of picking up a hitchhiker, who she found out after he'd gotten in her car, was fresh out of prison. What did she have to lose? She was ending it all anyway. Her new travel companion had other things on his agenda. Falling for crazy lady wasn't one of them.
After Renee wakes up in the hospital, she regrets not getting the hitchhiker's name, but uses what she found out about him during their car ride to attempt to find him.
I truly enjoyed this story. There was suspense, drama, humor, and a few plot twists that had me reading it without putting it down.The characters are well rounded and easy to get vested in.
